A copywriter who loves working with small businesses in Bristol
As someone who's called this city home for the past two decades, it's a pleasure to be a copywriter and content writer for small businesses in Bristol.
I specialise in working with creative and purpose-led small businesses: those who want to have a positive impact on people and planet.
I'm an experienced copywriting strategist who knows my SEO from my GEO, loves harnessing the power of blogging and email marketing, and knows how to create compelling website copy and content that speaks to your ideal clients and gets them booking your services.
I also know that poetic sentences or AI-generated copy aren't enough to build a sustainable, values-led business. And that effective digital writing requires nuance, judgement, ethics and a unique tone of voice.
If this sounds like the kind of copywriter you're after for your Bristol small business, I'd love to chat with you about working together.
Copy and content that harnesses the power of your words and the power of your website
Done-for-you website copywriting
I'll create all the words you need for your website, melding bespoke copy in your perfect tone of voice with my SEO know-how.
Website copyediting
If you're confident with creating a first draft of copy but want someone to give it a polish and sprinkle over some SEO magic, this is the service for you.
Blog strategy and writing
Reap the benefits of regular blogging with tailored content strategy and blog writing. This will help with SEO and AI search, establish you as an expert in your field, and share lots of useful information with potential clients. (Bonus: you can also repurpose blog posts into content for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.)
Website audit
If you're not getting the website traffic you want or are struggling to convert visitors to buyers, a website audit will help you learn what you need to tweak. I'll look at on-page SEO, accessibility and the user journey, then send over a detailed report with a list of actionable points.

As mentioned above, I've lived in Bristol since 2005: first in Clifton, then moving across the city to Knowle, and now calling Brislington home.
Before I became a copy and content writer for small businesses, I worked in the arts and third sector for lots of brilliant Bristol organisations including Circomedia (where I still take trapeze classes), Asian Arts Agency and Our Media.
Small businesses in Bristol I've written for include Nicola Jane Photography, Cosmically Conscious, New Leaf Studio and The Little Wedding Helper.
I love the energy, creativity and friendliness of people in Bristol – it really is a special place.
As I'm fuelled by caffeine, I also love how you can get an amazing coffee right across the city. My favourites include Small St Espresso, Small Goods (where some of my brand photos were taken), Playground (it's got swings!) and The Bristol Loaf at the Beacon. I've also got a soft spot for Caffe Amore and its amazing vintage advert decor plus very strong cafe au lait.

With over 15 years' experience as a writer and editor, the power of words still never ceases to amaze me. I use my love of words to help showcase socially conscious businesses, adding in SEO know-how to make them even more powerful.
I'm happiest with a book in my hand, my drink of choice is an oat milk flat white or glass of red wine, my favourite punctuation mark is the ampersand and I can spot a comma splice at ten paces. And unlike Vampire Weekend, I really do care about the Oxford comma. (Verdict: I don't like it.)
